Please use this document as a resource to understand the various parameters on your Gen 1 Dimmer Switch w/Scenes (NZW31-S). We try to keep this up-to-date, but as we constantly change our firmware, there may be a mistake. Please reach out if you see anything that needs to be corrected.

Please see the table below for a quick reference guide to the parameters on the Gen 1 Dimmer Switch w/Scenes (NZW31-S). The table is meant to provide a high level view of all the parameters. Below we'll list out the parameter number, description, range, default value, size, firmware version it was implemented and an example of how to use it.

Dimming speed refers to how fast or slow the light turns on when you change the dim level either remotely or locally (at the switch) such as from 10-20%, 60-80%, etc.

Minimum Dim Level refers to the minimum level the light switch will dim to.

Default Level (Local) refers to the level at which the light goes to when turned on when the light is turned on at the switch

Default Level (Remote) refers to the level at which the light goes to when turned on when the light is turned on via the app

To change the dimming speed at the switch (locally) on your Gen 1 Dimmer Switch w/Scenes (NZW31-S), you would select Parameter 1 within your hub and then input a range of 0-100, with each interval equating to 1 second with the default value of 3 meaning that the switch will dim on and off in 3 seconds.

To change the minimum dim level for how low your Gen 1 Dimmer Switch w/Scenes (NZW31-S) dims to, you would select Parameter 2 within your hub and then input a range of 1-45, where the lower the numeric value equals the lower the minimum dim level (1 = 1%) and the higher the numeric value equals the higher the minimum dim level (45 = 45%) with the default being that the switch will be at 1%.

This is typically used for fixing flickering bulbs or calibrating the bulb if it shuts off prior to 1%.

To set the default level your Gen 1 Dimmer Switch w/Scenes turns on to when you manually press the switch, you would select Parameter 8 within your hub and then input a range of 0-9, where zero (0) equals the previous level and the lower the numeric value equals a lower dim level (1 = ~1%) and the higher the numeric value equals a higher dim level (99 = ~100%) with the default being that the switch will return to the previous level it was at

To set the default level your Gen 1 Dimmer Switch w/Scenes turns on to when you turn on your switch remotely (via an app), you would select Parameter 9 within your hub and then input a range of 0-9, where zero (0) equals the previous level and the lower the numeric value equals a lower dim level (1 = ~1%) and the higher the numeric value equals a higher dim level (99 = ~100%) with the default being that the switch will return to the previous level it was at

LED Indicator refers to turning on and off the LED Indicator on the bottom of your switch.

Invert Switch refers to inverting the switch (where tapping up on the switch will turn the switch off and tapping down on the switch will turn the switch on)

Auto-Off Timer refers to the switch being turned off after a certain amount of time (in seconds).

Disable Relay refers to disabling the internal relay which prevents the switch from turning on/off the load.

To modify the behavior of the LED Indicator on your Gen 1 Dimmer Switch w/Scenes (NZW31-S), please select Parameter 3 within your hub and then input a range of 0-2, where a value of 0 has the LED off when the switch is on, a value of 1 has the LED on when the switch is on, and a value of 3 has the LED disabled. The default value is 0 (switch on, LED off).

To invert your Gen 1 Dimmer Switch w/Scenes (NZW31-S) (ie: tapping on the up button turns your light off and tapping on the down button turns your light on), you would select Parameter 4 within your hub and then select either 0 to keep it non-inverted or 1 to invert it with the default being that the switch is not inverted (value of 0).

To set an auto-off timer where you can have your Gen 1 Dimmer Switch w/Scenes (NZW31-S) turn off after a certain amount of seconds, you would select Parameter 3 within your hub and then input a range of 0-32768, where each interval is a second.

To disable the internal relay on your Gen 1 Dimmer Switch w/Scenes (NZW31-S) select Parameter 101 within your hub and then input a value of 0. By default, the value of Parameter 101 is 1, which has the relay enabled. This parameter is often used for smart bulbs to lock full power into the smart bulb and then use the switch multi-taps to turn on/off the light via scene control.
