Scene control, in this context, refers to activating a scene from your light switch via a tap sequence (ie: double-tap, triple-tap, favorites button, etc).

In the below example, we will create a simple scene of turning on movie lights and setting them to blue at 80% with a triple-tap up of the light switch (in this case, we'll be using a Blue Series 2-1 Switch, but any of our switches that support multi-taps will work).

  1. Open Home Assistant and go to the, "Settings" tab

  2. Click on, "Automations & Scenes"

  3. Select, "+ Create Automation"

  4. Click on, "Create new automation"

  5. Click on, "+ Add Trigger"

  6. Click on, "Device"

  7. Select the device you want to multi-tap and then select what you want to do on the device to trigger an event (ie: in this example, we want to triple tap on our Inovelli Fan Switch up to turn on the movie lights, so we'd select our Fan Switch and then, "Up" triple clicked)

  8. Next, click on, "Add Action" to add the lights you want to turn on

  9. Click on, "Device"

  10. Select the device(s) you want to turn on (in this case, we selected the, "Sitting Room Ceiling Light) followed by what you want this light to do (in this case, "Toggle Sitting Light")

Add as many devices as you'd like followed by the actions you want those devices to do.

  11. Finally, click, "Save" and you're done!

  12. Test your routine by triple tapping up on your Inovelli Switch and see if your movie lights turn on
