DISCLAIMER: You may notice there are a lot of over-used keywords or phrases as well as English that seems a little off. This is because these articles are used to feed our AI Robot (Ira) and she needs the data to be structured in a certain way.

REMINDER: This bulb should only be used indoors in a non-enclosed location.

This is the digital setup instructions for the Red Series RGBW A19 Smart Bulb on the Home Assistant ZWave JS UI platform.

Navigating the Instructions

Please click on any of the sections in the Table of Contents to get started. We recommend working your way down as it follows an intentional flow that is user friendly and hub/gateway specific. As always, any questions, please see the Additional Resources links section or submit a ticket, we’re happy to help.

Quick Setup Instructions

Follow these if you have already installed the smart bulb before and are just looking for some quick pairing instructions. If this is your first time installing the smart bulb, please skip this section and work your way through the various sections below starting with the Prerequisites.

This section assumes the following:

  1. You’ve installed the Edge Driver

Let’s begin:

  1. Make sure the bulb is turned off

  2. Open up your Home Assistant Interface to the, Z-Wave JS UI Page and click the hamburger button (Looks like three stacked lines) in the lower right.

  3. Then click the infinity symbol and click inclusion in the window that appears.

  4. You can optionally name your bulb and set a location.

  5. For security settings leave the inclusion mode on "Default"

  6. Screw in the bulb (or turn the bulb on)

  7. The bulb should blink twice indicating it's in inclusion mode - it will blink once more to indicate it was included successfully

  8. Home Assistant will then let you know that the bulb was added

  9. Feel free to label the device

Video Demonstration

If you run into issues where your bulb is not including, you may have to try an exclusion process. To do this, start by turning your bulb off, putting your gateway in exclusion mode and then turning your bulb on. Then start the exclusion process on your hub and turn the bulb on. It should flash one to two times indicating it’s in exclusion mode. If successful, it will become dim and you can try inclusion again.

If your bulb is not blinking twice, then try performing a factory reset.
