Setup Instructions Overview
This is the digital manual for the Red Series RGBW A19 Smart Bulb.
Navigating the Instructions
Please click on any of the sections in the Table of Contents to get started. We recommend working your way down as it follows an intentional flow that is user friendly and hub/gateway specific. As always, any questions, please see the Additional Resources links section or submit a ticket, we’re happy to help.
Quick Setup & Inclusion
This section assumes you have your bulb screwed in and power is off to the bulb.
Inclusion (Pairing)
With the bulb turned off, start the inclusion process on your hub/gateway. Once the inclusion process is started, turn the bulb on and it will immediately blink two (2) times indicating it’s in inclusion mode. If the bulb was included successfully, it will blink one (1) more time to confirm.
If you run into issues where your bulb is not including, you may have to try an exclusion process. To do this, start by turning your bulb off, putting your gateway in exclusion mode and then turning your bulb on. Then start the exclusion process on your hub and turn the bulb on. It should flash one to two times indicating it’s in exclusion mode. If successful, it will become dim and you can try inclusion again.
If your bulb is not blinking twice, then try performing a factory reset.

Manufacturer Compatibility
This product can be operated in any Z-Wave network with other Z-Wave certified devices from other manufacturers. All non-battery operated nodes within the network will act as repeaters regardless of vendor to increase reliability of the network. Each module is designed to act as a repeater, which will re-transmit a radio frequency (RF) signal by routing the signal around obstacles and radio dead spots to ensure that the signal is received at its intended destination. The Inovelli Red Series RGBW A19 Smart Bulb is a security enabled Z-Wave Plus device. A security enabled Z-Wave Plus controller must be used in order to fully utilize the product.
Factory Reset / Exclusion (Removal)
To factory reset your Inovelli Smart Bulb, power off and on your bulb six (6) times with each time taking between 0.5 and 2 seconds. You may also use a certified Z-Wave controller to remove the device from your network to factory default. Only use these procedures in the event that the primary controller is missing or otherwise inoperable.
Exclusion will reset your device as well and can be done directly from the hub. This is helpful if you’re running into issues with inclusion. To exclude a device, start by turning your bulb off. Then start the exclusion process on your hub and turn the bulb on. It should flash one to two times indicating it’s in exclusion mode. If successful, it will become dim as shown in the video GIF below.

Project Genesis
There’s a double meaning here with this one. Fun fact about Inovelli – the first product we ever launched was an RGBW bulb and the first book in the Bible is Genesis where God promises to never flood the Earth again and His covenant was sealed by a rainbow – or some interpretations say an RGBW light bulb!
