REMINDER: This module is only to be used to control AC Motor exhaust and ceiling fans. Do not use the module on any sort of DC Motor.
IMPORTANT: Before installing your fan module, please ensure the fan motor is set to high speed if the fan has a pull-chain (if not, don't worry about this warning). If you notice that after you install your fan/light module the speeds are not as fast as they were prior to installing your module, it's likely that the motor was not on high (please adjust if you find this is the case).
NOTICE: You may notice that there is a, "Max Speed" level inside of your app. This is a bug inside the driver that we have no control over. There is no, "Max Speed", so please ignore.
NOTICE: If you're having trouble pairing, please ensure the following:
Matter Devices and Controllers Must Be on the Same L2 Network
VLAN Use Requires Matter Controller/Server to operate on that VLAN
Make sure your Home Assistant system and your Echo Border Router firmware is up-to-date
IPv6 Networking is Required for Matter Networks. Link-Local Addresses Are Allowed, Look for a Setting in your Router Called “Enable IPv6.” (Note: This does not require you to configure the IPv6 connection for your entire network)
This is the digital setup instructions for the White Series Smart Fan/Light Canopy Module on the Home Assistant platform.

Quick Setup Instructions
Follow these if you have already installed the Canopy Module before and are just looking for some quick pairing instructions. If this is your first time installing the Canopy Module, please skip this section and work your way through the various sections below starting with the Prerequisites.
This section assumes the following:
Home Assistant and the Matter Server are installed and up-to-date.
You have a compatible Thread Border Router.
Your Fan/Light Canopy Module has been properly wired and powered.
Your network meets the Matter networking requirements listed above.
Let’s begin:
Open your Home Assistant app.
Navigate to Settings.
Select Devices & services.
Select the Devices tab.
Click ADD DEVICE.
Select Add Matter device.
When Home Assistant asks if the device is already connected to another Matter controller, select No. It's new.
Make sure the LED Indicator on the White Series Fan/Light Canopy Module is pulsing blue.
If it is not pulsing blue, press the module's Pairing Button three (3) times.
Select the option to open your camera and scan the Matter QR Code located on the module.
Allow Home Assistant to connect the module to your Matter network.
When Home Assistant confirms that the device is connected, click Done.
Navigate to the device within Home Assistant and verify that you can control both the fan and light.

If your LED Indicator refuses to pulse blue, then please hold down on the Pairing Button for approximately 20 seconds until the LED Indicator turns Red and then let go. The LED Indicator will blink red three times to confirm as shown in the video below.

Prerequisites
There are a couple of prerequisites required for pairing your Matter over Thread White Series Fan/Light Canopy Module to Home Assistant.
Home Assistant
Make sure you have:
The latest compatible version of Home Assistant installed.
The Matter Server installed and configured.
A compatible Thread Border Router.
The latest available firmware installed on your Thread Border Router.
If you do not see the option to Add Matter device when adding a device in Home Assistant, you will first need to complete the Matter Server installation and setup process.
Network
Most network settings will already be enabled by default, so you likely won't have to make any changes.
Make sure:
Matter devices and controllers are on the same L2 network.
If using VLANs, the Matter Controller/Server can operate on the VLAN containing the Matter device.
IPv6 is enabled on your network.
Installation Instructions
Before setting up your device within Home Assistant, you will have to manually install your device and have it powered up. In order to do that, you (or your licensed electrician) will need to follow our Wiring Instructions which can be found below:
Pairing Instructions
Please follow the instructions below to include/pair your White Series Fan/Light Canopy Module
First, navigate to the settings section of your Home Assistant install and click on "Devices & services".
Click on the "Devices" tab and then click on "ADD DEVICE".
Under the "Select brand" heading, choose "Add Matter device" (Note: If you do not see the option to add a matter device you must first go through the matter server install and setup process)
Next, click on the option "No. It's new" and proceed to the next step.
On this window choose to open the camera so you can scan the QR code on back of the device. Scan the code and proceed to the next step.
Home assistant will show the progress as it adds the device to your Matter network.
The next step will continue to show the progress as the device gets joined to your system.
Lastly, you will see confirmation that the device has been added!
Now you can navigate to the device in your Home Assistant install and control the light, the notification, and add it to automations!
NOTICE: You may notice that there is a, "Max Speed" level inside of your app. This is a bug inside the driver that we have no control over. There is no, "Max Speed", so please ignore.
Once your module is successfully paired, check to make sure you have basic functionality of your module by turning the fan and light on/off.
If you'd like to change your module's fan settings to operate as a ceiling fan or your module's light settings to dimmer mode, please move on to the, "Module Configuration" section below.

Module Configuration
In this section, we will help you change your module's fan and light settings (ie: Exhaust or Ceiling / On/Off or Dimmer).
By default, the module is set to, "Ceiling Fan" mode (ie: 3-Speed) and, "Dimmer" mode, so if you plan on keeping it as a speed controller for the fan motor and a dimmer for the light portion, then you can skip this part. However, if you want the fan and/or light to only turn on/off, then feel free to move forward in configuring it to operate as an on/off module.
If you are trying to setup your module's fan and/or light to Smart Fan/Light Mode, please still select the Module's Fan/Light Mode from the below instructions, and then follow the directions to setup Smart Fan Mode.
Module Fan Mode (Exhaust or Ceiling)
To change your Whtie Series Fan/Light Canopy Module from a Ceiling Fan (Multi-Speed) to an On/Off Fan or vice versa in Home Assistant, please follow the instructions below (again, by default it is set to a speed controller for a ceiling fan, so if that's what you want, you can ignore this step):

To change your White Series Fan/Light Canopy Module's light portion from a Dimmer to an On/Off Fan or vice versa in Home Assistant, please follow the instructions below (again, by default it is set to be a dimmer, so if that's what you want, you can ignore this step):

Advanced Feature Setup
This module is packed with features and most of them come directly from this community. They've been debated back and forth, added to wishlists, and talked about over the course of 4+ years (as this module builds on our Red Series lineup).
Below we will provide a link to all the parameters and show you how to change them from within SmartThings and then we'll go into some of the advanced features and explain how to set them up in SmartThings.
Smart Bulb Mode
Smart Bulb Mode is a special mode that allows you to lock power into your smart bulbs in case you want to control them from a smart switch.
You can access smart fan mode by going into the settings and selecting, "52. Light Smart Bulb Mode".
Smart Fan Mode
Smart Fan Mode is a special mode that allows you to lock power into your smart fan in case you want to control it from a smart switch.
You can access smart fan mode by going into the settings and selecting, "52. Fan Smart Bulb Mode".
Matter Binding
Matter binding is when two or more Matter products communicate directly with one another without the need to communicate with a hub. There are two main benefits of utilizing Matter binding: speed & local control.
From a speed standpoint, cutting out the middle-man (hub) can save precious milliseconds or even seconds depending on your cloud and/or processing power off your hub. Whereas from a local control standpoint, if your hub goes does down and cannot communicate, your products can still talk to each other.
