If you have your Blue Series Fan Switch installed without a neutral wire and in a multi-way setup, you will need to use an auxiliary switch and the switch will need to be put through a learning procedure in order for it to work properly.

Non-Neutral Aux Switch Learning Sequence

Please follow the below steps for your Blue Series Fan Switch to operate properly in a non-neutral setup using an auxiliary switch:

  • Turn the Fan Off

  • Tap down (bottom part of the paddle) on the Aux Switch nine (9) times to enter the learning mode - if successful, the Inovelli Blue Series Fan Switch LED Bar will start pulsing pink

  • Hold down (bottom part of the paddle) on the Aux Switch until the LED Bar on the Inovelli Blue Series Fan Switch flashes green three (3) times which will indicate the learning process is completed

    • While you are holding down on the Aux switch, the fan will cycle from the Off state to the Low state to the Medium state and back to Off - Do not let go of the Aux Switch during this time

  • Test to make sure you can control the fan properly from the Aux switch - again, you will only have two speeds, low and medium

Video Demonstration

As a reminder, when no neutral wire is present, the fan will only be able to operate in two speeds (low and medium).
