Manual Neutral / Non-Neutral Configuration (Important)
Firmware v1.08 changes how the switch handles power source detection:
Automatic neutral detection has been removed, and users must manually set the correct power source.
Users with non-neutral installations must perform this configuration step after updating to ensure proper operation.
You can set the power source in either of the following ways:
Hold the “Down” button and press the Config button 11 times (Recommended)
Set Parameter P21 to 0
If done correctly you should see the following on the LED Bar:
Green LED bar indicates a non-neutral configuration
Yellow LED bar indicates a neutral configuration

Troubleshooting & Tips (Important)
If the switch is Non-neutral and in the ON state after the update, the switch may get into a “reboot” loop. It is advised to make sure the switch is OFF during the update and then configure non-neutral (as described above) before turning it on.
If the switch is accidentally in the ON state after the update, continuously press the DOWN button while the switch boots up to exit the loop. If you are still having issues after that you can pull the air gap out and contact support at help.inovelli.com.
Device Compatibility Notice
We have identified a compatibility concern with the Broan 688 series exhaust fan.
All exhaust fans should be operated in On/Off mode on the switch, but if the switch gets turned to medium or low (on accident for example), this can cause issues.
Operating the fan on the medium speed setting can place excessive electrical stress on the switch
Continued use in this configuration may damage the switch
To prevent potential damage, we recommend not using this switch with the Broan 688 series.
Trade-In Option Available
If you are using a Broan 688 series fan—or another device with similar characteristics—and would prefer an alternative, we are offering a trade-in option for the VZM30 on/off switch, which is better suited for these types of loads.
If you’re unsure whether your device is affected or would like to initiate a trade-in, please contact our support team at help.inovelli.com and we’ll be happy to assist.
